The technology advances in healthcare demand: Real-Time Systems; Interoperability and Data-Driven.
In today’s connected healthcare environment, the role of I.T. is essential to gaining the most value from your healthcare integration infrastructure and ensuring your infrastructure has the right fit for the demands upon us today and those we will be facing in the years ahead. We have heard so many times inside healthcare organizations how E H R projects are perceived as IT projects. Far from it! HTS remained steadfast knowing that what was perceived as an “IT Project” was essentially changing the entire delivery of healthcare. It has been an exciting journey. EHR system upgrades are critical to improving the way the medical organization operates. A one size fits all is not the case when it comes to E H R and the system initially chosen may not be the right fit now. As more advances have occurred in E H R systems, the need for greater usability, smoother workflows, coordination of care, and taking full advantage of mobile and digital platforms augmenting the new healthcare consumer. Not all E H Rs are built the same. Here is a short list of improvements made over the last few years to the functionality of the software resulting in upgraded software systems: 1. Enhance physicians’ ability to provide high-quality patient care 2. Support team-based care 3. Promote care coordination 4. Offer product modularity & configurability 5. Reduce cognitive workload 6. Promote data liquidity 7. Facilitate digital & mobile patient engagement 8. Expedite user input into product design & post-implementation feedback |
